Recently I bought an Red Asian fighter fish...I am not a pet person per say..I was when I was young, and gave up on the whole idea after several of my pets died down the years...which is a natural part of life since we live a lot longer than them...but mostly because I have come to appreciate my active life style on the fly..and you cannot go off on a whim when pets are involved...same as it is with children....serious preparations have to be made. And quite frankly I can understand when people get together and get pets together...then they break up...and a fight over who get the pets ensue...very messy. I prefer to not be bothered, one way or another. But I like Asian fighters...they are pretty and show some character in their graceful ways...besides...I can put a water Lilly in with them...so that should I wonder off...they can feed on the roots....and algie. The little fella looked so lonely in his glass bowl...I went out and got him a woman. Strange though...I could never find her...I thought she was dead...and actually move the bowl to a more central area of the room so that I could keep and eye out....and there she is. To know who is who...she is blue (in more ways than one I have come to discover), Last night I got home...looked in the bowl and once again she was just being still between the crack of a shell...and I again though she was dead...so I was pissed...and figured I had such a wonderful day..I would wait until morning to 'fish' her out of the bowl...so to speak. When i got ready to do so...she suddenly made a darting run from her hiding spot..What tha...!? It was then I noticed something and had to bust out laughing.. The male then tried to jump her...and the 'dog chasing the cat' scenario came to mind in an instant... Heck...he was seeking the 'booty'...and she was not having it...and immediately darted back to her hiding crevice...which was way too small for him to get at her... successfully...that is....LOL! I can tell...this is going to be a promising adventure to watch unfold. How will I know it is just courting...and not abuse? Mmmmm...interesting....?
